Buenos Aires, Dec 1 (NA) - Racing Club's goalkeeper Gabriel Arias received a heartfelt tribute before the match against Tigre, held at the Cilindro de Avellaneda, valid for the quarter-finals of the 2025 Clausura Tournament. In this way, the 38-year-old goalkeeper witnessed his last match at 'Academy's' home after deciding not to extend his contract with the institution following the loss of his starting position to Facundo Cambeses. The tribute began with an emotional video shown on the stadium's big screen, which features the Argentine-Chilean goalkeeper with the 2024 Copa Sudamericana, a title in which he was decisive for the team led by Gustavo Costas. The match, which will mark Arias's last appearance at the Cilindro, although it is unlikely he will get minutes, will be covered live by the Argentine News Agency. The winner of this match will face Boca Juniors in the semi-finals of the local championship at La Bombonera.
